ALBATROS

Our German partners, MAY Parasols, bring their decades of expertise to creating the Giant telescopic ALBATROS Commercial parasols. Founded in 1983 by Anton May and his wife Gertrud, the second generation is now at the helm of the family business. Brothers Karl-Heinz May and Klaus-Peter May manage the company and combine tradition with modern business acumen. More than 160 employees produce parasols of the highest quality, often tailoring them to bespoke customer preferences. In late 2024, they opened a new state-of-the-art German parasol factory, a testament to their unwavering commitment to excellence.

The Albatros comes into its own, where other large parasols reach their limits and open new dimensions to provide shade and a canopy for outdoor areas.

Just one giant ALBATROS parasol allows you to cover an area of up to 78 m² while making an incredibly stylish and unique impression. Its XXL format, clear design, and elegance will harmonise effortlessly with any architectural environment, making it a striking addition to your outdoor space.

The Albatros advantages and benefits for you

  • Size range 4m to 10m manufactured in line with TUV standards
  • 47 different sizes - Square, Round and Rectangular
  • Robust, Sturdy and durable with a 100mm Mast diameter with 5mm wall thickness
  • Spokes 50mm x 20mm and support struts 40mm x 25mm
  • All spokes are reinforced with steel galvanised cores as standard
  • Spokes are tensioned to keep the canopy taut and prolong its life
  • It is telescopic, so it opens over most furniture without moving it
  • A removable hand crank with a bevel gear opens and closes the canopy
  • All parts are designed for ease of care and maintenance
  • Frame made of durable F22 alloy – a low alloy steel
  • Frame colour: White (RAL9010) or Anthracite (RAL 7016) – Optional Bespoke RAL POA.
  • Hardwearing corrosion-resistant polyester powder-coated frames
  • European solution-dyed acrylic fabrics are used for the membranes, with a choice of around 40 colours.
  • Bespoke logo and brand Screen and digital printing available for canopies and valances
  • Excellent protection from the sun's harmful UV ranging from UPF40 to UPF 80 per UV801
  • Optional fire-retardant PVC v Integrated electrics with optional automatic cut-off switch and heat-saver toggle button
  • Standard wiring six core (1@ 4mm; 1@ 1.5mm), single phase Infra-red heaters options, allowing closure of the canopy without removing the heaters
  • Optional LED lighting along the corner spokes
  • Optional longer mast
  • Wind rating: Hi level of wind safety example 6m x 6m rating of ‘6’ (tested to DIN 1055)
